Asymptotic behavior of the Lerch transcendent function

چکیده
For complex parameters λ and s, consider the Lerch transcendent Φ(λ, s, z) = ∑∞ k=0 λ (k + z)−s as a function of the complex variable z. We analyze the asymptotic behavior of this function as Re s→ −∞.

A series transformation formula and related polynomials
We present a formula that turns power series into series of functions. This formula serves two purposes: first, it helps to evaluate some power series in a closed form; second, it transforms certain power series into asymptotic series. For example, we find the asymptotic expansions for λ > 0 of the incomplete gamma function γ(λ,x) and of the Lerch transcendent Φ(x,s,λ). In one particular case, ...
متن کاملThe Lerch Transcendent from the Point of View of Fourier Analysis
We obtain some well-known expansions for the Lerch transcendent and the Hurwitz zeta function using elementary Fourier analytic methods. These Fourier series can be used to analytically continue the functions and prove the classical functional equations, which arise from the relations satisfied by the Fourier conjugate and flat Fourier series. In particular, the functional equation for the Riem...
متن کاملGeometric Studies on Inequalities of Harmonic Functions in a Complex Field Based on ξ-Generalized Hurwitz-Lerch Zeta Function
Authors, define and establish a new subclass of harmonic regular schlicht functions (HSF) in the open unit disc through the use of the extended generalized Noor-type integral operator associated with the ξ-generalized Hurwitz-Lerch Zeta function (GHLZF). Furthermore, some geometric properties of this subclass are also studied.
متن کاملAsymptotic Behavior of Weighted Sums of Weakly Negative Dependent Random Variables
Let be a sequence of weakly negative dependent (denoted by, WND) random variables with common distribution function F and let be other sequence of positive random variables independent of and for some and for all . In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of the tail probabilities of the maximum, weighted sums, randomly weighted sums and randomly indexed weighted sums of heavy...
متن کاملCrandall's computation of the incomplete Gamma function and the Hurwitz zeta function, with applications to Dirichlet L-series
This paper extends tools developed by Richard Crandall in [16] to provide robust, high-precision methods for computation of the incomplete Gamma function and the Lerch transcendent. We then apply these to the corresponding computation of the Hurwitz zeta function and so of Dirichlet L-series and character polylogarithms.
